Worth Township Spelling Bee
Worth Township Supervisor John "Jack" Murphy would like to announce the winners of the 35th Annunal Lenon Wisdom Memorial Spelling Bee held of Friday, April 20th. Participants were divided into two divisions. The Senior Division consisted of 7th and 8th graders and the Junior Division consisted of 5th and 6th grades. Winners were recipients of trophies and certificates along with checks which were donated by the Law Office of John Z. Toscas. First place winners received a $200 check; Second place received a $100 check and Third place a $75 check.

EISENHOWER STUDENTS VISIT WORTH TOWNSHIP

Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 15 students in the community access class, along with their teacher, Mary Haubenreiser and three chaperones, visited Worth Township. The students and their chaperones took public transportation from Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, stopping on the way to select and purchase food to donate to the Worth Township Food Pantry. Then they waited for another bus to bring them to Worth Township to personally donate the food items. After visiting the Food Pantry, the students and their chaperones were given a tour of the Township facilities to acquaint them with all the programs and services the township has to offer its residents. The students learned first hand about the effectiveness of a partnership between the township and the community in serving our residents.

After touring the township the students boarded another bus and returned to Eisenhower High School to discuss what townships mean to the community and how it affects everyday life. Thanks again, to Eisenhower students and staff for their generous donation to our food pantry and for the opportunity to demonstrate the need for this outreach
