PLEASE TAKE NOTICE , that the regular meeting of the Township Supervisor and Trustees (collectively, the “Township Board”) of Worth Township scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, the 27th day of August, 2015 has been cancelled.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE , that at the request of the Township Supervisor, the Township Board will convene a special meeting on Tuesday, the 1 st day of September, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. at Township Hall, which is located at 11601 South Pulaski Road, Alsip, County of Cook, State of Illinois.

Said special meeting is convened for the purpose of considering, with possible final action to be taken, such matters as are set forth on the special meeting agenda attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

The Township Board will entertain public comment regarding the abovementioned matters. All persons who are interested are invited to attend the special meeting to listen and be heard.

This special meeting may be continued to a further time, date and place without further notice being given except as may be provided in the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

Individuals with disabilities planning to attend the special meeting and who require certain accommodations in order to allow them to observe and participate, or who have questions regarding the accessibility of the meeting facilities are requested to contact the Township Clerk at (708) 371-2900.

38th Annual Lenon Wisdom Memorial Spelling Bee
Worth Township Supervisor Kevin Hughes would like to announce the winners of the 38th Annual Lenon Wisdom Memorial Spelling Bee.  The competition was held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Worth Township located in Alsip, Illinois.  Participants were divided into the Junior Division consisting of 5th and 6th graders and the Senior Division consisting of 7th and 8th graders.  The spellers were from schools throughout the Township.

Among those to be thanked for their assistance with this annual event are IL Senator Bill Cunningham and IL Representative Fran Hurley. In addition to the winners receiving their trophy, medal and certificate each received a monetary gift. A very special thank you to Supervisor Kevin Hughes and Trustee Patrick Hanlon for donating the monetary gifts each winner received. This annual event is held under the direction of Worth Township Trustee Theresa Roche and Youth Commission Director Sue Sortino.
